EMERGENCY DISASTER PLAN UPDATE


The Village of Spencerville is in the process of updating our Emergency Disaster Plan and we are in need of information from the Spencerville Community.  We have created a form for residents to provide contact information for those individuals who may require special needs or periodic checks during an emergency situation.  If you would like to have someone placed on this list, please complete the form included herein. Village Seeks Full-Time Utilities Employee


The Village of Spencerville is now accepting applications for a full-time Utilities Employee.  Applicants shall hold a valid Ohio driver’s license and obtain a Class B with Air Brake Endorsement Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within ninety (90) days of employment.  Applicants must be a High School graduate or equivalent.  Experience in a related field would be preferred; such as trenching and excavating, general construction practices, minor vehicle maintenance and equipment operations.  Salary commensurate with experience.  Applications are available at the Village Utilities Garage, 524 N. Broadway Street, Spencerville; Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or on the Village’s website at www.spencervilleoh.com.  Applications shall be submitted to the Village Utilities Garage, 524 N. Village of Spencerville Seeks Village Solicitor


The Village of Spencerville is accepting resumes/qualifications to identify an attorney or firm of attorneys to provide legal services as the Village Solicitor, as outlined in Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 705.11.  Individuals and firms with experience in the area of local municipal law are strongly encouraged to submit their resume/qualifications.


The Village of Spencerville is governed by a Mayor and six (6) elected Council members who establish policy and execute the business of the Village through the Village Administrator.  The Village Solicitor serves at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council.


In addition to the duties outlined in ORC 705.11, the Village Solicitor must deliver timely legal services that support the operations of the Village.  The Village Solicitor shall be hired on a contract basis, and would not be considered an employee of the Village.


When requested, the Village Solicitor shall attend Council meetings, and other committee meetings.


Applicants should have backgrounds in real estate and construction law, drafting contracts; possess excellent writing, drafting, research, communications and interpersonal skills.  Additional experience in utility or municipal law, along with the ability to direct and supervise outside counsel, is preferred.


Additional preferred skills include:  litigation experience (particularly defense of larger claims), a scientific or engineering background and experience in environmental or administrative law and regulation.


The Village Solicitor will work closely with the Mayor, Council, Village Administrator, Fiscal Officer and Police Chief.


Candidates should be licensed in the State of Ohio, with salary being commensurate with experience.  The Village of Spencerville is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
